FREDRICKFRED BIOGRAPHY IN MUSIC
I have worked for many years writing and recording with talented musicians chasing something called success. It’s been a learning curve to say the least. Previously I worked predominately writing lyrics and melodies for other people. Fredrickfred is my own adventure now. Not sure where any of this is going, if it is going anywhere at all?

RENT

The rot really started to set in with Thatcher selling off council houses. Historically there was a recognized need for protected social housing. If you were going to sell council houses you should have at least built another one or two for every house or flat sold. That would have been the morally descent thing to do in my opinion; as well looking to the future with a steady continuous socially responsible housing program. They failed miserably,  we see the legacy of their incompetence and deliberate neglect in the outrageous price of the private renting market, that desperately needs to be controlled.

Where I live in East London you see cranes on the horizon, unaffordable new builds going up everywhere you look. Built in a time of desperate need for so many, built in the middle of a housing crisis, unaffordable homes. So many people ignored and not valued. Get in a long line behind the building companies insatiable drive for profit, the shareholders, the foreign investors, the property speculators. A civilized society, a country you could be proud to live in would not allow this to happen. We live in a time of rampant greed and it needs to be called out, it needs to stop and it needs to change.

For me a home is such a fundamental right. The need for shelter and a secure front door is such a basic human right. I hope my song RENT will be part of the conversation.
